In Reference to the Former Organization
On the second Saturday in November, 1860 Bros. John.W. Haynes, Nathan Ayers, and Robert Painter met in what was called Blue School house located one mile south of this church. It was a small log building situated on a little branch in the edge of the woods without any enclosure around it. Here these good brothers organized the first Baptist church in this part of the country, and its name lives today. It was called Littleby, hence ours is only a reorganization of that body.
